Terms and Conditions
This policy outlines the expectations for students, parents, and staff at our Islamic School. Our aim is to foster an environment conducive to learning, personal development, and spiritual growth. Consistent behaviour and attendance are crucial for progress. Students are expected to dedicate time both in and out of the Islamic School.
Parental Involvement:
a) Ensuring your child is sitting down to learn/revise every day at the appointed times. Supervision may be required at times. Children must devote sufficient time (minimum 1.5 hours). b) On a daily basis parents need to enquire if Sabaq and revision has been recited. You must check your child's homework daily. c) Priorities need to be clear. If your child is going to be absent from the Islamic School on a regular basis (due to sporting activities etc), this will not be permitted. You need to think carefully about such issues. d) Your support and co-operation are essential. Where the MCCU Education Team raises concerns, parents need to appreciate these concerns and support the MCCU Education Team in implementing recommendations that are made. e) Children at times may need a "sympathetic ear" from parents. Thus, empathy is also essential if we are to assist and help our children.
Dress Code
During the Islamic School Classes Boys are required to wear a thobe and a hat and girls are required to wear a long abaya and head scarf. This dress code promotes a sense of unity and adherence to Islamic values.
Behaviour Expectations
Students are expected to exhibit behaviour that reflects the principles of Islam, including respect, honesty, and integrity. Disruptive behaviour is unacceptable and will be addressed according to the MCCU disciplinary procedures.
Punctuality
Punctuality is highly valued for the Islamic School. Students are expected to arrive on time for the class. Parents are encouraged to support their children in developing good habits of punctuality and responsibility for timely homework completion. Holidays will not be taken during the class.
What if my child's attitude towards the Islamic School classes are poor?
If your child 's attitude towards the Islamic School class in general is poor, then you need to seriously consider whether Islamic School classes are the correct move for your child. Islamic School class is very challenging and requires far greater dedication and commitment. You cannot simply enroll your child into the Islamic School class and expect "things to automatically fall into place."
Holidays:
The Islamic School will be closed for a total of 4 weeks in lieu of the extra days taught each month. Holidays will coincide with school term holidays. You will be notified of the dates in advance.
Ramadan:
Classes will continue as normal during Ramadan.
Enforcement:
Staff will monitor adherence to this policy. Failure to comply, will result in a clear and fair disciplinary process, with the aim of guiding students back to the correct path. This policy is in place to ensure that our Islamic School classes remains a place of learning and moral development, in line with our Islamic ethos. We appreciate the cooperation of all students, parents, and staff in upholding these standards.
